KALI'NA

The Kali’na, are known as the Caribs. Mainland Caribs and several other names are an indigenous people native to the northern coastal areas of South America. Today, the Kali’na live largely in villages on the rivers and coasts of Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, and Brazil. Kali’na may distinguish themselves as Kali'na tilewuyu ("true Kali’na"). Kali'na continue to live off their traditional activities as part of a subsistence economy. They practice the hunting, the fishing, gathering and subsistence farming on slash and burn as their ancestors did.

KALINA FOOD TRADING COMPANY (“KFTC”) is a commodities trade firm and food distribution company that develops international trade relationships for developing countries worldwide. The Principals of KFTC have been involved with the food and agriculture industry since 2009. In North America we have created a new model for small to medium sized African American restaurants and independent grocery stores to maximize their purchasing opportunities.

This model will also allow food manufacturers of authentic ethnic food to maximize their trading opportunities and also offers African Purchasers direct access to authentic ethnic food products from the original Manufacturers that can cater to their respective diaspora. Using our Purchase and Sales models is more profitable than using existing purchasing and marketing sources since we can provide greater economies of scale to the benefit of both the Manufacturer and the Purchaser by removing inefficiencies and barriers in procurement and distribution.

By creating an expanded presence in Africa we will be able to achieve greater economies of scale with regards to our purchasing power and effect more affordable prices to our customers than most Traders since all of our purchases will be aggregated from suppliers who can provide the best prices to us and this will be of benefit of participants in our Program in West Africa.

KFTC has registered its first office in Africa in the Gambia. The Gambia presents many transshipment possibilities and logistical advantages for our company because of the country location and the Gambia River. This location will see Kalina opening a physical office, bank accounts and eventually purchasing land for its first Fulfillment and Administrative Centre.
