KFTC has also begun trading in West Africa. We have done so since we believe that the region had all of the main requirements for our company to implement a successful, sustainable trade program. Our program requires us:
1. Locating in an area that can meet our needs for employees and the establishment of a retail and wholesale fulfillment and administrative center. A location within a market that requires our service.
2. Identifying African businesses who require access to authentic, nutritional food products at prices that cannot be negotiated from existing suppliers or are not available in any sustainable or reliable quantities from existing suppliers.
3. Identifying local producers of food who would like access to purchasers of their authentic, healthy food
4. Initiating Business Buying Clubs in each geographical region thereby:
a. Creating direct Access to/for African businesses and households and managing a system “Access to Clean. Healthy. Nutritious. Authentic food with
Guidance and Education” at affordable prices. The Kalina Access to C.H.A.N.G.E Program
b. Creating sustainable employment opportunities for Africans in the local Kalina operation and marketing, utilizing Africans as a resource group to be trained, employed or financed by Kalina in the Food Industry.
c. In the medium to long term increasing the capacity of Kalina to locate Kalina Food Express stores not to compete with existing business but to locate in
areas where food availability, affordable pricing and access is limited.
d. Investing into local farming projects to supply food items required for each country’s nutritional requirements that are affected by a lack of access to foreign manufacturers or climate related crises and by supplying agricultural technology and matching investors to work with local farmers.
We believe that our unique model for food distribution will not only demonstrate that it can meet the goals and objectives of reducing Food insecurity experienced by West Africans but also create their access to other goods and services because of our company’s unique approach, its head office location, its logistics partners, broker partners and business model.
